NEWS: Static Dress Release “The Magistrate’s Loop” Interactive Experience

“Don’t think, just move.”

Adding to their already expansive repertoire, modern post-hardcore legends Static Dress have released a new, lore-filled experience for fans to dive into. The free-to-play experience, titled The Magistrate’s Loop, is a psychological horror straight out of the realm of Silent Hill‘s PT. In a looping corridor, there is nowhere to escape the uneasiness imposed by the environment’s stillness.

This comes shortly after the release of the band’s sophomore video game effort, The Place Of No Ends, a GBA Doom mod developed by Alex Constante, which sees players once again donning Emile’s persona and battling through secret-filled stages. The Magistrate’s Loop is an unlinked, standalone experience developed by the band’s long-term tech collaborator, Sam Beevors. The game is a culmination of everything the band stands for, packed with obscure plot points, puzzles, and surprises at every turn.

Fans dedicated enough to beat the puzzle are rewarded with an almighty prize, which we’ll refrain from spoiling here. Suffice it to say, if you’re excited about what Static Dress has in store, you’ll want to try and conquer this game.

All of this supports the band’s upcoming sophomore album, Injury Episode, set for release later this month. The album was announced at an intimate, free event entitled Live Death Display in London on March 31st. The band is set to perform at Slam Dunk this weekend, undoubtedly with a few surprises in store (as they always do). To top it off, Static Dress will play three intimate Panic Room shows shortly after the album’s release, each at an extremely intimate venue, promising some of the band’s most authentic performances to date.

Feeling lucky? See if you can break free from The Magistrate’s Loop here.

Injury Episode releases on May 29th via Sumerian and is available for preorder through the Static Dress webstoreSumerian (UK/US), and independent retailers.
