Dobbin recommends: A brutally fast bleeder from a band that has had long time respect fron within our camp. “Sunrise, Parabellum” opens up the pit for Burner‘s next record. Mixing hardcore, mathcore and a dose of extreme metal, it’ll bring satisfaction for anyone wanting something to swing a fist to. The conclusion brings dissonant clean guitars over gut-punching chords, and enlists Trivium‘s Matthew K. Heafy to give the breakdown incredible weight.
Din of Celestial Birds – Takeoffs & Landings (Big Scary Monsters)

Dobbin recommends: Among the most promising of the UK’s post rock underground, Din of Celestial Birds find a metallic stride on “Takeoffs & Landings“, the title track of their August album. They’ve been picked up by Big Scary Monsters for the release, which is its own stamp of approval. This piece is short but brings all aspects of their sound to the fore, and will have you gritting your teeth whilst smiling.

Joe recommends: Another contender has entered into the ranks the post-hardcore revival scene, currently defined by act of the hour, Static Dress. heaving. strongly impress on their latest single “faces of you“, dropping ahead of their sophomore EP. The ‘gaze tinged guitars build out the expansive breadth of the track’s atmosphere, with the rhythm work having the catchy sensibilities of an Underoath, making it for an earworm of a track. Seemingly structured to flow as part of a wider record, we look forward to seeing how all these piece come together on the upcoming EP.

Joe recommends: This Aussie unit are one we’ve been waiting to hear studio work from since we featured them in our Ones To Watch for 2025. Finally, Takoba unleash their wrath upon the world in the form of debut single “Mantis“. Blending the grit of 00s metalcore with metallic hardcore heaviness, it’s styled with the grisly aesthetic and atmosphere that many Aussie metalcore and adjacent bands such as Skorn and Volatile Ways have been dabbling in.
