Loud, aggressive and pointed while being packed with groove, CHUG ensure that onlookers will go from dancing and bobbing before being caught moshing away to the raw breakdown that encompasses its close.

Dobbin recommends: The UK’s most ‘1066’ crossover thrash band have donned their chainmail. Forming an alliance with Church Road Records, they begin their warpath with “Terminus“, a feral and atmospheric track that indicates a strong release is brewing. The bridge delivers a grim quote pulled from literature, a scathing rejection of the divine spoken from the depths of despair.

Joe recommends: Hitting that sweet spot of post-hardcore with screamo and melodic influences, there is a deeply cathartic and emotionless sense to Sewnshut‘s sound that continues to shine through on “Deadwing“. Melodies and screams that will capture the ear of those who enjoy the likes of Bloom, while having the metalcore riffs to please those who enjoy the sound of the likes of trust. or even Long Goodbye.

Joe recommends: Announcing their signing to Deep Love Recordings, joining the likes of Rev3rent, Empty Shell Casing and Fifi, Stroud’s Prodigal prove their worth alongside their stablemates with single “The Door“. Elasticated and ominous riffs fill the track, as early Deftones shows its influence, alongside the heft of Ill Niño and the emotional pull of 36 Crazyfists, whilst avoiding an overt display of nostalgia.
