Invent Animate Announce ‘Heavener’ + Single “Immolation of Night”

Texan progressive metalcore quartet Invent Animate have announced their upcoming fourth album, Heavener, alongside another single, “Immolation of Night”, which is arguably the most aggressive of the band’s discography. Produced in conjunction with Landon Tewers of The Plot In You, the record seems set to be their heaviest and most daring yet. Heavener will be the second full length featuring vocalist Marcus Vik, who joined the band in 2018.

“While searching for inspiration to write this song, I had grown tired of recounting past trauma and things that have hurt me and still affect me,” says drummer Trey Celaya. “It was making me feel powerless, and I wanted to take that power back and approach from a different angle. This song was born of a realization that all of my suffering has actually made me incredibly resilient and grounded, and I am not the weak person that I sometimes feel that I am. In reality, I have a certain confidence in life that I wouldn’t have if not for my losses and failures. They’ve given me a lot of good characteristics and shaped me into who I am today, and it’s a person I’m proud of.”

Invent have been playing “Immolation of Night” live for many months now, since the UK leg of last year’s Never Say Die! tour. Given the track’s raucous nature, it is easy to see why. If some of the remaining tracks follow suit, Heavener is sure to be one of the most fun and talked about metalcore records of the year. The album will release on March 17th, a little over three years on from Greyview, adding to what is already an extremely stacked release day. It also marks the group’s debut on UNFD, with this latest single premiered on the label’s YouTube channel by popular reaction content creator Rachelle Reacts.

Heavener will release March 17th via UNFD, and you can pre-order it here. Additionally, you can find the album’s artwork and official track listing below. For all things Invent Animate, djent, and music in general, including our forthcoming review of the record, keep it locked on Boolin Tunes.
