Agriculture & Healing Wound at the Castle and Falcon, Birmingham

Shot on the 20th June by Maisie Cooper. Contact before any use

Healing Wound set the bar high to open proceedings. Cavorting and twisting through blistering sludgy hardcore and chorus-drenched bass and guitar breaks amid the haze, the Brighton outfit threw down a fiery challenge, with a ferocious live presence belying their fledgling status. Agriculture brought their signature blend of black metal outpourings and intimately hushed counterculture folk to bear with huge emotional heft. Raw and revealingly vulnerable even through the most crashingly noisy builds, Dan Meyer’s self-accompanied musings give way effortlessly to shrieking blackgaze in a demonstration of the LA quartet’s mastery of tension and release. A truly affirming experience.
