Following up from their announcement of Kin and new single “Lost Boy“, Whitechapel have returned with their second single from the album. “A Bloodsoaked Symphony” features as the third track on the upcoming album, and comes with a music video which can be viewed below.
Speaking on the upcoming album, guitarist Alex Wade said the following: “It’s still very much a metal album, but there are elements of the record that have more of a rock and open vibe. We really wanted these songs to breathe and have life and to sound bigger than anything we’ve made so far. We have explored more singing on ‘Kin’ too. It wouldn’t make sense to have the majority of the fanbase enjoy that sound and then shy away from it.”
Active since 2006, Whitechapel underwent a career resurgence of sorts with their 2019 release The Valley. Their first to feature clean vocals in large portions, it followed a somewhat muted response to the previous album, Mark of the Blade. They toured in support with Dying Fetus, and had scheduled another with As I Lay Dying in 2020 before its pandemic-related cancellation. Looking forward, Whitechapel has one show for the rest of the year, a hometown affair which can be found here.
