Djent mainstays Veil of Maya have shared a brand new single titled “Outrun“, along with an official music video. You can view the aforementioned video below.
Featuring textured synths and pad drums alongside the group’s typical insane riffing and hyper-speed drumming, “Outrun” demonstrates a new side to Veil of Maya‘s ever-evolving sound.
Speaking on the brand new single, frontman Lukas Magyar shared the following: “”Outrun” is extra special to us because it’s something we haven’t done before and we weren’t trying too hard to make something different. It just came together organically and we were all very pleased when it was complete.”
The video for “Outrun” was filmed on their currently-ongoing tour with Dance Gavin Dance, Polyphia, Eidola and Wolf & Bear. Notably, this is one of the first live music videos released since the COVID-19 pandemic due to the halt of live music over the past year.
Details on the group’s upcoming seventh studio album are yet unknown, but given the group’s recent output of February’s “Viscera“, and last year’s “Outsider“, it seems the group are gearing up for something big.
