Today The Devil Wears Prada have announced their upcoming record, Color Decay, which will release this September. The record will include previously released singles, “Watchtower” and “Sacrifice“, and will include their newly released single “Salt“. The video for which can be viewed below.
Discussing the single and upcoming album, The Devil Wears Prada comment, “‘Salt’ is a song about trying to move forward and then feeling like nothing ever changes, even when you’ve seemingly done everything right,” the band says. “It’s the sort of feeling that makes you question every move you’ve ever made. Initially, the lyrics were just about having trouble writing songs for our new record, but soon, we realized that this feeling of fighting only to be stagnant and held down applies to so much more in our lives. It was really a breakthrough track and allowed us to dive in even deeper into what became Color Decay.”.
With Color Decay, The Devil Wears Prada will reach the milestone of eight full-length records. With the upcoming record following on from 2019’s The Act, however their most recent release being their Zombie II EP in 2020. Color Decay will sit alongside With Roots Above and Branches Below, 8:18 and Transit Blues in what is becoming one of metalcore’s finest discographies. The unit will begin their 2022 summer headliner, starting August 4th in Milwaukee and will wrap up the tour on September 10th in South Carolina, the tour will see TDWP both Zombie EPs in full alongside their greatest hits.
