The collective know as the The Armed have today revealed the details of their upcoming record, Perfect Saviors, which is set to release this coming August. This will be The Armed’s fifth full-length record, following on from 2021’s release, Ultrapop. This announcement comes with brand new single, “Sport of Form“, and the glitzy new single can be listened to below, including a feature from Iggy Pop.
In their latest track, The Armed seemingly tread into new territory. Form their high velocity hardcore synthesized sound seen on previous records, they exiting out into a 00/90s rock-esque serenade, adding further layers to the collective’s already interwoven sound. Where the remaining eleven tracks either side of it will venture is yet to been seen. Tantalisingly, Common Enemies’ track “Liar“, will see a sequel with “Liar 2“, 13 years on from its release.
Teasing begun on website VaticanUnderConstruction, with a series of games involving member Cara Drolshagen. Within each game, cryptic clues related to track listing and the “prizes” linked further into The Armed‘s enigmatic lore. The website contained a track listing of anagrams, with the likes of “Evil Bug Pricing“, becoming being closer “Public Grieving“, or the easier to solve “El Con” being “Clone“.
Perfect Saviors release this coming August 25th via Sargent House, and can be pre-ordered here. The album’s artwork and tracklist can be viewed below. For a full review of Perfect Savior and further news on The Armed keep an eye on Boolin Tunes.
