Sydney unit SPEED have been the blue chip prospect of the hardcore scene in recent times, it has earned them spots on stages across the globe including Outbreak in the UK on the upcoming tour with Knocked Loose alongside Loathe. It’s also lead to an anticipation around when new material would emerge from the quartet, the lead to the announcement of debut full-length Only One Mode last week, which is set to release this coming July.
SPEED have now released first single and opening track from the record in the form of “Real Life Love“, a track about loyalty and realness from hardcore, and how SPEED connected through showing up. With this they have revealed the tracklist for the upcoming Only One Mode, ten tracks of trademark toughness from SPEED which should give their fans more than plenty to throw their hands to.
Vocalist Jem Siow commented on the upcoming record, “My time in hardcore has informed the relationships I have with everyone I hold close. An unconditional sense of love and loyalty. A bond that knows no words. Relationships that now span a lifetime. To us, this unique sense of deep-seated understanding is the essence of HC, it’s what we’re most passionate about and grateful for. Yet there are many in, and especially outside of this space who conflate this idea. If you stick around long enough, you might just get it. Otherwise, what’s the point to all of this?”.
Only One Mode will release July 12th via Flatspot Records, and can be pre-ordered here. The full tracklist and artwork can be viewed below. For a full review of the record and further news on everything SPEED, stick with BoolinTunes.
