The collective of Respire have today detailed their upcoming album Hiraeth, which is set to release this coming July via Dine Alone Records. The record will be Respire‘s fourth since 2016 and follows on from 2020’s superb offering in the form of Black Line. The announcement comes with with brand new track “Distant Light of Belonging“, which can be listened to below.
Infusing soundscapes of screamo, classical, post-metal and much more, it has been difficult to define Respire into one genre. Making their name on sophomore record Dénouement, which displays their sound in full force, the Toronto group further expanded with Black Line. This evolution is set to continue on Hiraeth, which is set to be their longest record yet, at a run time of 44 minutes.
Historically fully DIY and with Hiraeth still recorded and produced in that manner, Respire have now signed to Dine Alone Records. It will see Respire join the lines of NOBRO, Black Mountain and Single Mothers on the label.
Hiraeth is set to release July 26th via Die Alone Records, and can be pre-ordered here. The album’s artwork and full track listing can be viewed below. For a full review of Hiraeth and further news on Respire, keep it locked on BoolinTunes.
