Vein.fm Announce New Album “This World Is Going To Ruin You”

Nearly four years after the highly acclaimed Errorzone released, Vein.fm will return with their follow up, This World Is Going To Ruin You. With a run time of 32 minutes, this will be their longest record, with the closer running at 7:16 minutes their longest track. The album will include the group’s first features; Bones appearing on “Orgy In The Morgue“, Geoff from Thursday on “Fear In Non Fiction” and Jeff from Jeromes Dream on “Hellnight“. Tracks “Fear In Non Fiction” and “Wavery“, will release as singles on January 25th and February 15th respectively. Teasers for this album had been hidden around for a while, with a scan from Old Data New Machine inserts contained the phrase “I will always be wherever you are“, linking it to track 6 on the album “Wherever You Are“.

The usage of the title “Welcome Home” on the opening track can be traced back to Anthony Didio’s project, death_fm, in which the opening track ran by the same name. Despite the tracks being of a somewhat familiar length and both acting as openers, it is high unlikely they will share any similarities beyond the naming convention. Songs from the upcoming album were being played live as early as 2019, with “Inside Design” being played live in October of 2019, identifiable by its track length. The band also recently played the track “Hellnight” at a show in Long Island, NY, which can be seen here. Like many releases coming out this year, it is likely new material would have been seen in the latter half of 2022 but the ongoing pandemic forcing the hand of these projects to be delayed.

Static Dress announce Rouge Carpet Disaster LP

Following on from the release of their debut EP Prologue…, Static Dress have released the second single from their upcoming debut album Rouge Carpet Disaster. The album was secretly revealed alongside the single and pre-orders for vinyl went live. The track itself includes a first feature for the band, with King Yosef providing a vocal feature, best known for his work producing Darke Complex’s Point Oblivion. Since last year, the quartet had fans searching for clues to “Solve the mystery“. Three words were required to unlock the album’s pre-order page on this site, those three words make up the album name and the final word was hidden within code inside the “Di-sinTer” video. The aforementioned track will join “sweet.” on the album, which was released in June of 2021. Penned for Spring 2022, Rogue Carpet Disaster will make up 12 tracks, with the remaining 10 yet to be revealed. The album artwork for the upcoming album can be viewed below.

Counterparts Performing New Single + Album Complete

At the recent FYS Holiday Show, Counterparts played a brand new song titled “Bound to the Burn” from their upcoming album set for release this year. Frontman Brendan Murphy later explained on Twitter the meaning behind the track being “how I fucking hate that I pour my heart out to make music and I’m still poor“, and later confirming that vocal tracking for the upcoming record had been finished. The main riff from “Bound to the Burn” can be found on Jesse Doreen’s Youtube. There has been no confirmation whether this means a return to the band for the former guitarist of Counterparts, who left in 2016, however since the departure of Blake Hardman it is a possibility. Drummer Kyle Brownlee had speculated on Twitch that an October date is possible for release, however the record hadn’t been finished recording when that comment was made.

Loathe Release New Single “Dimorphous Display”

Just under a year since The Things They Believe, Loathe dropped new single “Dimorphous Display” as part of a collaborative collection. With Eddie Al-Shakarchi producing the latest release, this is his first foray into metalcore after previously working with such as Chino XL, Homeboy Sandman and Action Bronson. There was speculation leading up to the single that this track was going to be a reimagined version of “Two-Way Mirror“, due the naming convention being a variation of that title. It is a possibility that the reimagined version of Loathe’s most popular song has been scrapped while the band moves ahead with the upcoming album and the second release from the collaboration on the 20th January.
