Joe recommends: Thrash crossover seems to be in more than good health at the moment, with plenty of bands from Asidhara, Pest Control and Overpower reinvigorating a fabled genre. Denial of Life further contribute to that with their return on “Circle The Drain”, packed with cutting riffs and searing vocals, and might just be the start of their breakout.
The Hyena Kill – Benefits Me (Single)

Dobbin recommends: The second track from The Hyena Kill’s comeback, and one that realises all their potential and shows their downtime has been put to good use. It’s a refreshed post hardcore sound that dips into gaze, math and post elements, laying down an absolute groove whilst it does so.
Vivarium – BRUTALITY (Single)

Shane recommends: A good deathcore song should make you question its writer’s sanity. “BRUTALITY” is just Vivarium’s second track and already demands serious attention, wielding all the most effective aspects of modern deathcore with prowess. The final breakdown that shows their hardcore influences and offers the hardest guttural call, “This is an act of nature”, sealing an already gross track with one more disgusting barrage.
Death of Youth – Fix Your Heart or Die (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Death of Youth refresh their sound and line up with this new single, offering a classic melodic hardcore sound. Rob David’s semi-clean vocals are commanding and screams poetry against an increasingly transphobic society. The band are racking up the shows out of their London HQ and should be ones to watch out for across UK line ups over then next year.
