Dobbin recommends: Hardcore is a genre of proud traditions and shared intent, yet every band brings a subtly different attitude to each basement arena. Broken Focus are new starters from LA who riff as hard as the rest of the scene whilst the vocals brim with character. This is our favourite cut from their self titled debut which represents their demo stage. Part of us is hoping they never sound different; they’ve already got it nailed down.
Traumatizer – Nuclear War Machine (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Traumatizer is a speedy hardcore and d-beat band that’s coming thundering out of the Netherlands. This is the feedbacking, spine-cracking opener for their new EP Nuclear War Machine. It puts them forward as a band in total command of the chaos they’ll set loose in any venue that will risk housing them.
Gender Warfare – Sound of the Underground (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Bowing to pressure from the harlequins of the queercore scene, Gender Warfare have finally gone ska, mixing it into their salad of punk riffs and breakbeats. The project is now wrapping up, but they’re not going out without a bop; they leave their legacy on the UK queer underground, giving it an eclecticism it’s really needed.
