Dobbin recommends: Starting with a frankly girthy guitar tone, “cognitive decline” is a solid alt/rock metal track from a budding group, with just one other song out (though you wouldn’t guess that from the quality production). The vocals dance between nonchalance, passionate and screamed. The Deftones inspiration is clear and always welcome, but there’s a clear sheen of new-wave Loathe to the sound as well.

Harry recommends: Dropping their final single of 2023, HELL CAN WAIT mark themselves as a staple of melodic hardcore in its current era. Forceful and impassioned vocals steeped in a charged and impressive instrumental performance makes it difficult to not see HELL CAN WAIT doing grand things in 2024.
