STAFF PICKS
Castdoubt – PTSD Radio (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Castdoubt are making a hardcore and nu-core infusion that cuts as cold as ice. Whereas their first single “Cracked” was a tour through the hardest mosh moments they could deliver, “PTSD Radio” might be their standard yet unpredictable format. It’s much faster and full of hooks, be they slick vocals, tight drum patterns or hilariously drop tuned guitar stabs and scrapes. The polish on this is incredible indicating the band should be taken seriously at all levels.
Parting With Origin – Evolve (Single)

Joe recommends: On the emotive and gorgeous track “Evolve“, Parting With Origin showcase the days of British metalcore at its prime. Standout tech-metalcore moments blended with emotive cleans and grooves, make for a track that is sure to capture the heart of those who pass through it.
Second Impact – The Aftermath (Single)

Dobbin recommends: A surprise double single from freak-hardcore band Second Impact which demonstrates their vicious streak. “Headhunter” takes a bright riff and turns it into a vow for vengeance, curdling the tempo as the anger rises. “Roach” spits necrotic spite and doubles down on not just surviving, but thriving in spite of our abusers.
Vivarium – DEAD EYED (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Those with tolerance for some of the most esoteric in-joke samples known to man will be rewarded with an obscene deathcore track from Vivarium. These vocals are so guttural they might as well be retches. The swaggering low moments in the mid segment are likely to prompt crab-poses from the guitarists. It’s our second time highlighting one of their singles this year, and our pleasure to indulge in their cacophony.
