A pacey and ferocious endeavour from one of the UK’s most exciting young bands, “God of Gods” sees the unit amp up the energy and aggression as they usher in a new era.

Dobbin recommends: “Creatress” is Forlorn shambling to life like a titanic forest cryptid. Megan Elliott‘s vocals displays an incredible range from regal clean to rancid harsh. The second verse is its own journey from sedate interlude to blast beat driven turns. Closing on a smashing synth driven, china-crashing breakdown, “Creatress” is an exciting start for Forlorn‘s 2024.
Cult Leader – Learn To Love It (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Salt Lake City stalwarts Cult Leader step into 2024 with a vicious single. The track undulates through stabbing and lurching riffs with pitched feedback and pissed vocals. A false ending begets a breakdown – or perhaps it would be a breakdown if not for four or five beat variations swirling to the final collapse.

Joe recommends: As part of their Nothing More Wretched (Deluxe Anniversary Edition), Beyond Extinction drop the final single “Posthuman“. Vicious gutturals from Jasper Harmer backed with maddening double kicks and crunching riffs make for furious listen that sees the Essex unit expand their ever-impressive discography.
