Joe recommends: One Step Closer are a defining ‘post pandemic’ band and “Giant’s Despair” is another embrace of nostalgaic emotive hardcore. Unlike “Leap Years“, this track takes it easy, a trusty ballad full of lucious cleans. They even get a bit midwest on us with brass sneaking in at the end.
Greyhaven – The Welcome Party (Single)

Max recommends: In a track that is both acutely melodic and brilliantly chaotic, Greyhaven pen one of their most robust and enthralling cuts to date in “The Welcome Party”. With an earworm chorus and some truly fierce riffs to boot, if this is an indication of the Greyhaven’s quality standard on Stereo Grief, we may just see the Kentucky unit hit a new peak.
Karybdis – The Reaper and the Revenant (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Dual vocals pepper this blistering track from a hardworking UK unit, who have been honing their craft for over a decade. The guitars boast spanky djent tones with constant technical flourish, matched by the drums. Later on the track adds some glittery cleans for its steady closure, opting for an honest and grand prog finish rather than succumbing to breakdownism.

Harry recommends: Succinct electronic-infused metalcore with a foul bite, “Dominion” beats will skip around your skull with dizzying glee. All of the delivery is pissed as hell, even through the catchy choruses, a difficult feat to pull off when vocals are this harsh. The most brutal moment is the last, a brutally abrupt cut ending that is pulled off with utmost confidence.
