Joe recommends: Ahead of their appearance at Desertfest in a few months time, Harrowed have dropped two absolute headbangers in the form of “Embers” and “Dark Collective“. Dense metallic riffs pack out “Embers“, as each element of the track looks to rip the ear off. Sludgier influences are introduced on “Dark Collective“, showing the versatility and grit of Harrowed‘s sound.

Joe recommend: Melbourne hardcore delivers once again, this time HORSEPOWER return on the pummelling “Day By Day“, their first new music since 2024’s A Tear Or Two. Their distinct vocals with a strong and chesty timbre lead “Day By Day“, as the drum grooves and kick punches away to give the track an extra level of force.
Nostalgia Bias – SCUTS (Single)

Joe recommend: Blending a cocktail of influences from shoegaze, grunge and post-punk, Nostalgia Bias deliver up a track full of charm on their third single “SCUTS“. Lead vocals that sound as if they could have been plucked out of the 80s, deliver the melancholic tones of “SCUTS”, weaving together grungegaze guitars and keys that give the track its glisten. While the genre does feel more packed than ever, Nostalgia Bias have certainly found a way to stand out from the crowd.
SPLIT & DEFIANCE HC – Sunk Cost Fallacy (Single)

Joe recommend: On a run with teaming up with some of Europe’s finest hardcore and beatdown bands, Denmark’s SPLIT now collaborate with Germany’s DEFIANCE HC on “Sunk Cost Fallacy“, to put together a track that is absolutely nails. Brimming with rage, with vocals that are absolutely pissed off from both vocalists, this alongside the gnarly breakdown makes for a track of pure heat that gets the adrenaline kicking in.
