A-Tota-So – Form of Mass (Single)

Dobbin recommends: For what’s usually a chipper genre, “Form of Mass” develops to be an unusually and uniquely dark take on math rock. At first the noodly riffs and shouted vocals have a welcoming quality, but in the track’s second half the band slide into a morose, determined tone. A-Tota-So are a UK mainstay of the genre so it’s fun to see them experiment with a slice of darkness with their recent singles.
Boys Like Bells – Great Pilot (Single)

Jack recommends: Making a triumphant return to the scene, Ethan Sgarbossa debuts new project Boys Like Bells with an emo anthem for the ages in Great Pilot. Taking influence from modern post-hardcore, old-school emo, and maybe even a little bit of pop-punk, Great Pilot is a remarkable solo debut, and with the promise of more on the horizon, it looks like Ethan is finally sat back firmly in the saddle, and he’s got his sights set on success.
Living Spite – No Grace (Single)

Dobbin recommends: A new beginning for fenland hardcore comes in the form of Living Spite’s debut single. “No Grace” is chilling, multi-faceted beatdown, with great depth to Suzi’s vocals and absolutely delicious riffs. The track is dedicated to Reece Samara Thomas, responsible for the fantastic artwork of the single and many other brilliant contributions to the scene, who sadly passed just before the track’s release.
