Dobbin recommends: Philadelphia band Hurry return with a feel-good summer single. “Beggin’ For You” is a sensible toe-tapper that shows its soul during the bridge with a brigade of trumpets. Compared to their 2021 material (Fake Ideas LP), they’ve aligned more toward jangly indie pop than emo (the guitarist/vocalist Matt Scottoline already conquered all that with his old band Everyone Everywhere).
To The Grave – Shock Tactics (1000v)

Matt recommends: Aussie deathcore powerhouses To The Grave return just months on from their last full-length with ”Shock Tactics (1000v)”, a track so bleak it makes most Counterparts feel like show-tunes. Tastefully injecting black metal and hints of post-metal into their abrasive sound, the track reinforces their spot among the genre’s best.

Harry recommends: Ten years on from their previous outing, Texas In July make their remarkable comeback with a truly statement piece in “False Divinity“. Incredibly dynamic guitarwork, mixing, and emotive vocals from frontman JT Cavey (who sounds better than ever) come together on what it is certainly one of the strongest, unapologetically metalcore tracks of the year. Texas In July have not missed a beat.
DWNKILL – Time Will Tell
