Whispered vocals and uneasy synths will send chills down your spine whilst the rhythmns induct you into the most occult of club nights. “What You Were Hiding” will be a pivotal track on Insula Iscariot‘s debut record, set to drop at the beginning of August.

Joe recommends: After blowing the deathcore scene out of the water with their self-titled EP last year, Killing of a Sacred Deer make their much anticipated return with “Annalise“. Sounding more evil than ever, Colter showcases their impressive vocal range with a few savage gutturals thrown in, and a snare that absolutely pops stills strikes the ear like nothing else.
Mourn – Heaven to Gain (Single)

Joe recommends: On “Heaven to Gain“, Mourn seemingly continue to tell the story that was initially told with debut single “Hell To Pay“, serving as a sublime follow-up to what was one of their standout tracks. Griffiths yells “I’m climbing out the hell I have paid“, while the instrumentals indulge in the thrash elements that made its precursor so special; yet another gem from the Welsh unit.
Re-buried – Chainsaw Ritual (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Finishing up with something more old school, Re-buried offer a classic OSDM sound on “Chainsaw Ritual“. From the grim opening sample to the cavernous closing solo, the whole track oozes rudimentary charm. The follow-up to their acclaimed record Repulsive Nature is set to be a strong record and will further cement them within modern death metal’s frontline.
