Jonathan recommends: Holding suspense while delivering in sonically crushing intervals, “Antimatter” proves yet again that Silent Planet is never done innovating. With a track that sounds like nothing they have ever done before, yet still feeling authentic to them, one can only imagine what their upcoming album will bring to the table.
Dreamwell – Obelisk of Hands (Single)

Dobbin recommends: With “Obelisk of Hands“, Dreamwell announce their signing to Prosthetic Records, joining bands such as Pupil Slicer, Death Goals, and Sunrot. Anyone who heard their 2021 release knows this is much deserved, and the new track serves more hardcore influence for their screamgaze sound. Guest Logan St. Germain, bassist for Anklebiter, contributes crystal-clean vocals; likely the most delicate moment on their upcoming release. Tantalisingly, the track ends with a short interlude and rising noise, only increasing my hype for the full flow of the record.
Poppy – Knockoff (Single)

Nisrin recommends: With “Knockoff“‘s electro-industrial sound, Poppy taps back into the darker atmosphere initially explored on I Disagree, marking a step away from the 90’s-inspired alternative rock of Flux. However, the track solidifies an entirely new direction for Poppy, as she manages to accomplish with almost every new release of hers, and it successfully sets what seems to be a clear, cohesive sound to this exciting new project.
Ethel Cain – Famous Last Words (An Ode to Eaters) (Single)

Kathleen recommends: Ethel Cain makes her highly-anticipated return with “Famous Last Words (An Ode to Eaters)“, her first official release following her critically-acclaimed debut studio album Preacher’s Daughter. Originally released at the end of 2022 on Cain‘s SoundCloud and Tumblr accounts, the track has been re-released as part of an upcoming compilation featuring various artists by luxury streetwear brand 1017 ALYX 9SM. With its dreamy, spacious soundscape juxtaposed by lyrics that pay homage to romance-horror film Bones and All, the track explores the intersection between a doomed romance and cannibalism, tying it to the narratives of both the film and Preacher’s Daughter.
