Nick recommends: Nurtured from the talents of fromjoy and MouthBreather, 6 Months to Live have emerged with debut single ashing on my hand, a track that is as creatively daring as it is primevally heavy. Featuring angular mathcore riffing and pummelling breakdowns, contrasted by a surprisingly catchy chorus and light electronics, ashing on my hand hits all the right notes, and given the roots, it’s no surprise 6 Months to Live have come out swinging, and I’m ecstatic to hear more.
demeanour – Twinblade (Single)

Dobbin recommends: The UK queer metalcore group demeanour have waited for the right moment to put out a studio release, allowing their live appearances and several full live sets on YouTube to prove their worth. With “Twinblade” we can begin to absorb their sound fully. It’s a powerful and dissonant take on hardcore, with riffs turning from simple and sophisticated as the moment requires.
Faced Out – Saudade feat. Boneflower (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Continuing the hardcore domination this Friday, we have Faced Out‘s comeback, sure to please all fans of classic era metalcore. The vocal feature from their screamo friends from Spain, Boneflower, gives the second half a melodic flair, all the while remaining desperately heavy. Faced Out’s upcoming record should be another delight from the trustworthy Coming Strife records.
Glasshaven – Poisoning The Well (Single)

Harry recommends: Comprised of former members of Blind Summit and In Fear, Glasshaven storm out of the gates with their debut single, “Poisoning the Well“. Awash with ambience, hypnotic synths, and a deceptively filthy guitar tone, the track is a gem about as polished as you will get from a brand-new band, its strong backbone providing the canvas for Ali Angelini‘s stunning vocals to shine. With unmistakeable production from George Lever, “Poisoning the Well” is another notch in the win column for the underground UK scene, and a blessed phoenix from the ashes of two fantastic projects.
