Joe recommends: Brimming with rage at the injustice of the modern world, Black Mould HC deliver another absolute barnstormer of a track with “Liberate“. Vicious vocals cut through the track, leading the charge with righteous indignation, once again proving just how good Black Mould HC are.
Final Gasp – No Hand To Lead (Single)

Dobbin recommends: Final Gasp are giving us one last single before their LP drops next week, and it’s the title track, no less. It’s an offering of their satisfying goth-dipped post-hardcore, with guitars that chime with chorus and vocals exuding rock ‘n’ roll swagger. In true 80s style, they even infuse pianos to the outro and end with a classic fade out. This track is certainly the ‘throw back’ end of their sound, and there’s something intangibly special about the way they do it, but as other singles like “The Apparition” have shown, they are a forward-looking band too.

Dobbin recommends: On their debut EP Demo, People Like You blur the line between noise rock, hardcore, and deathcore. “writhing” is a gut churning introduction that welcomes us into their dissonant sphere. “fall by the sword” and “god’s favourite” weaponise these uncomfortable sounds for brutal tracks with uniquely tortured vocals, gravity inducing breakdowns and production that hopes to leave your earbuds scarred for life. Featuring members of London’s So Far So Good, this release proves People Like You‘s studio prowess and highlights them as a potentially incendiary live experience.

Joe recommends: Making their debut on “Living Yesterday” with an assist from ameokama, Varination deliver some of the finest screamo we’ve heard so far this year. The dual vocal offering creates a contrast between the piercing vocals of Varination and the more scramz/emo style of ameokama, making for one chaotic listen.
