Dobbin recommends: Këkht Aräkh has always directly cut to the core of depressive black metal is all about. “Wanderer” is a new track that faces backwards, perhaps in commentary on Këkht Aräkh’s surprise success, with Crying Orc proudly reprising that name-drop from “In The Garden” (“Still wandering in the night, Pale Swordsman”). It’s got the delightful mix of clean guitars in the front and bedroom black metal in the back, a production choice that will seem like a crime to those who don’t get it, and sullen glory to those who do.
