Gliding between post-hardcore, emo and mathier moments, deathdotgov are difficult to quantify in their genre and sound, which makes for a fascinating listen.

Dobbin recommends: “Towering Monoliths” is the longest Mountainscape song since their debut, and thus a natural choice for a single from a riffy post metal band. It boats a raw sound, with hench bass and crazy drumwork, that is backed by soaring drones that fill the high register with pedal generated gales. Wait for triumphant turn at seven minutes in for a terrific solo and emotional outro.
