Doom-trap artist Mimi Barks has revealed her upcoming mixtape, DEADGIRL, set to release this December. Comprised of nine tracks, the mixtape will include previous released tracks such as “RAD“, “SUICIDE“, and now the brand new “nihil“, which displays Mimi’s handling of haunting atmosphere alongside thrashing beats. The video for this new track can viewed below.
The mixtape marks a new era for Mimi Barks, who is set to become one of the acts to keep an eye on heading into 2023. When talking about her latest single, Mimi explains, “‘nihil’ is the first track I wrote after having my entire music collection and visuals wiped off all DSP’s including YouTube in 2020. And just when I entered the void, thinking this is it, my brother KOEN sent this beat, which lead me to writing the first song for what would later become the DEADGIRL Mixtape. I needed to move forward from this, and “nihil” be my reboot in a paradoxical way.”
Mimi will be performing at Burn It Down festival this weekend alongside fellow UK acts such as VEXED, Graphic Nature, and Love Is Noise. Later this year she will also be performing at Throwfest in Cardiff with Kubrick, Your Misery, and Profiler.
DEADGIRL is set for release on December 16th via Silent Cult Records. You can pre-order the mixtape here, and view the tracklist and artwork below. For a full review of DEADGIRL and further updates on Mimi Barks, stick with Boolin Tunes.
