Boston theatrical metalcore titans Ice Nine Kills have shared a heavy second taste of the upcoming sequel romp The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood with “Assault & Batteries“. The track’s official video can be viewed below.
In keeping with the group’s film-based lyrical themes, “Assault & Batteries” derives its inspiration from the Child’s Play movie franchise. The track continues the trend set by previous single “Hip To Be Scared” in taking a lighthearted, yet appropriately aggressive approach its subject matter.
Frontman and creative driving force Spencer Charnas had the following to say in regards to the new single: “It was only one month ago that we painted the walls of Wall Street red with the release of ”Hip To Be Scared.” Now, we proudly present, “Assault & Batteries“, a brutal ode to an iconic two-foot tall demonic doll.”
“Assault & Batteries” follows the release of “Hip To Be Scared“, the first taste of The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood, that paid homage to the Bret Easton Ellis classic, American Psycho. The track has already clocked up 2.6 million streams with one million YouTube views.
To celebrate the release of their brand new album, the band have also announced details of a special film event in London entitled Welcome To Horrorwood.
Taking place on September 8th at the Everyman Cinema at Screen On The Green, guests will be given an exclusive first look of a brand new music video from the upcoming release, plus some surprise appearances at this unique experience with many photo opportunities for guests. Tickets for the event are available here.
Further, the group recently revealed the full tracklist for the album, which you can view with the album’s official artwork below. The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood is due for release on October 15th via Fearless Records, and you can pre-order the album here.
