Grouper Announces New Album Titled ‘Shade’

Pacific Northwest artist Liz Harris aka Grouper has announced her twelfth full-length album, Shade, for release on Kranky later this year. With this announcement comes a single titled “Unclean Mind” which you can listen to below.

Harris’ first full length came in the year 2005 with the album titled Way Their Crept. The most recent work from Liz Harris was was her feature on this year’s Xiu Xiu album on the track “A Bottle of Rum”.

Shade will touch on “loss, flaws, hiding places, love” while also displaying “Deep connections to the Bay Area, and the North Coast, with its unique moods of solitude, beauty, and isolation—a place described and transformed by the chaos and power of river-mouth, wild maritime storms, columns of mist that rise up unexpectedly on the road at night.”

Shade will release on October 22nd via Kranky. You can find pre-orders here, and view the album’s official artwork below as well as the tracklist. For further news on Grouper and a review of Shade, stick around Boolin Tunes.
