Ever-present hardcore punk unit GEL have made a surprise return with new single “Mirage“, the first new material since debut full-length Only Constant. The single comes alongside the announcement of upcoming EP, Persona, which is set to release this coming August via Blue Grape. The video for “Mirage” can be viewed below.
Showing their penchant for grooves on Only Constant and now are once again flexed on “Mirage“. Seemingly setting themselves up to not let a year go by without a new offering, it shall be the successive year GEL have dropped material since 2021, which saw their debut EP Violent Closure. Split EP Shock Therapy and aforementioned debut full-length Only Constant have since followed, making GEL a mainstay of the genre.
GEL will be heading out to the UK on tour with support coming Split Chain, seeing them hit locations such as Oxford, Exeter, Bristol and Southampton, before going on to perform at Download Festival this year. The tour will expand across Europe, that includes several festival appearances such as Jera On Air, Hellfest and Iperfest in Belgium.
Persona is set to release August 16th via Blue Grape, and can be pre-ordered here. The EP’s artwork and full tracklist can be viewed below. For a full review of the record, stick with BoolinTunes.
