Illinois unit Frail Body have shared details of their upcoming album, Artificial Bouquet, set to release late March through label Deathwish Inc. Produced, engineered, and recorded by Pete Grossmann at Bricktop Recording with mastering by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden, the announcement comes along with new single “Refrain“, which can be viewed below.
The lead single, “Refrain“, accompanied by a performance video, skillfully blurs the lines between post-hardcore and melodic black metal in its frenzied approach. Lowell Shaffer, the vocalist and guitarist, sheds light on the song, expressing how “Refrain” delves into the deep sense of insignificance that life can hold in its concluding moments. The track explores the stark contrast between the complexity of a rich life coming to an end in an unfamiliar bed and the lingering echoes of meaningful elements juxtaposed with life’s unavoidable and unjust experiences.
Artificial Bouquet will look to position Frail Body as pioneers in the modern screamo scene, showcasing a raw and captivatingly chaotic intensity. Which while on tour in both the United States and the UK, listeners will be able to witness in person. During their United Kingdom, Frail Body will be accompanied by post hardcore unit Chalk Hands, with Heavenly Blue joining them while touring their home country.
Artificial Bouquet will release March 29th via Deathwish Inc., and can be pre-ordered here. The record’s full track-list and artwork can be viewed below. For a full review of Artificial Bouquet, stay watching BoolinTunes.
