UK rockers Don Broco have shared a fourth taste of what to expect on the soon-to-be-released Amazing Things. You can view the track’s official stream below.
Featuring chunky guitar riffs, glitzy synth work and stirring vocals; “Uber” is sure to be a fan favourite. Lyrically, the track is informed by their time in America, the result of and a reaction to a number of shocking situations that the band found themselves in.
Speaking on the track’s inspiration, the band had the following to say: “This was the first song we started writing for the album a few years ago touring the States,” say the band. “Within the space of a week three separate Uber drivers were openly racist in front of us, I guess assuming as white guys we’d share their views. ‘”Uber” is about being angry about that, being angry that racists seem to be growing in confidence to speak their hate in public and it’s a reminder to me to call out that discrimination whenever I see it.”
“Uber” follows the release of three preceding singles over the past few months. First, “Manchester Super Reds No. 1 Fan” shocked the music world with its insane video. Following on, “Gumshield“ demonstrated the group’s knack for fun viral marketing, with a fictional boxing match being promoted to lead up to the single’s video. Thirdly, “One True Prince” showcased a new side for the band, featuring a gorgeous Deftones-esque chorus, and a breathtaking music video to boot.
Amazing Things is due for release on September 17th via Sharptone Records, and you can pre-order the record here. For all things Don Broco, including our upcoming review of Amazing Things, keep it locked on Boolin Tunes.
