California blackgaze legends Deafheaven have shared a new single, “Great Mass of Color“, and announced a brand new album titled Infinite Granite. You can find the track’s official stream below.
Infinite Granite marks a notable departure from the Deafheaven’s signature blackgaze sound, with vocalist George Clarke reportedly trading in his trademark black metal screeches for a more melodic approach. Further, the group have also enlisted the help of producer Justin Meldal-Johnson (Wolf Alice, Paramore, M83) to help bring their new sound, including more textured synth work to accompany their ethereal guitar work, to life.
Infinite Granite is due for release on August 20th via Sargent House. You can pre-order the record here, and view the album’s official artwork and track listing below. For all things Deafheaven and metal in general, keep it locked on Boolin Tunes.
