Coheed and Cambria announce 10th studio album and new single “Searching For Tomorrow”

Dancing through a mental breakdown, I find I am always met with doubt.

Today Coheed and Cambria announce their latest studio album, a monumental 10th for their discography that stretches back to 2001. Vaxis Act III: The Father of Make Believe will contain fourteen tracks including a four part closing epic and the singles “Searching For Tomorrow” (which drops today) and the bombastic “Blind Side Sonny“. The latter explores new levels of punky heaviness for an already blistering band whose style has accessed post hardcore, prog, emo and more in their many years on the road.

Followers of the Vaxis storyline can raise their eyebrows extra high at this release. Not only is it the third act in its science fiction world, it also breaks the fourth wall as frontman Claudio Sanchez is becoming a key character – the “Father of Make Believe” himself – looking at the world with an air of omniscience.

The album has possibly the most Coheed and Cambria-looking tracklist you’ve ever seen. Feast your eyes.

  1. Yesterday’s Lost (3:24)
  2. Goodbye, Sunshine (4:16)
  3. Searching for Tomorrow (3:33)
  4. The Father of Make Believe (4:39)
  5. Meri of Mercy (4:16)
  6. Blind Side Sonny (2:22)
  7. Play the Poet (3:29)
  8. One Last Miracle (3:12)
  9. Corner My Confidence (4:04)
  10. Someone Who Can (3:45)
  11. The Continuum I: Welcome to Forever, Mr Nobody (3:43)
  12. The Continuum II: The Flood (6:23)
  13. The Continuum III: Tethered Together (4:36)

Pre-orders for the new album go live today, including an audacious box set for the most dedicated. It comes complete with an illustrated novella, am absolutely crazy looking headset, a massive bedroom poster and a signed death certificate. With a release date on the 14th March, it won’t be there in time for Christmas, but just the thought of it should keep you warm enough.
