New Jersey’s own Can’t Swim has had a fevered output of music since their inception in 2015. Not only is the quantity of their music consistent, but the quality and variance of their releases is impressive as well. Now, they are back with the lead single, “Deliver Us More Evil”, off their upcoming album Change of Plans. The song is catchy and dissonant, and truly sounds like the natural next step for Can’t Swim. The video can be viewed below.
Discussing the new track, vocalist Chris LoPorto has stated: “‘Deliver Us More Evil’ was one of those songs that I knew right off the bat would be a single someday for Can’t Swim. I think I came home from tour and sat down in my studio and wrote the entire thing in an afternoon. One of my favorite songwriters said in an interview that a good song should only take a half-hour to write. When I listen to ‘Deliver Us More Evil’, it really sounds like the future of the band to me, a road I have been wanting to go down for a long time.”
The upcoming record was produced, mixed and mastered by Will Putney, who worked on the recently announced Everytime I Die album Radical. This will be the bands’ third full length studio album, with their last LP This Too Won’t Pass coming out in 2018. However their most recent material came last year in the form of two EPs titled Someone Who Isn’t Me and When the Dust Settles, the latter revisiting songs such as “Stranger” and “My Queen”.
Change Of Plans is out on October 22nd via Pure Noise Records. You can pre-order Change of Plans here and view the album’s official artwork and track list below. For further news on Can’t Swim, as well as a review for the upcoming album, check back in with Boolin Tunes.
