Brutus Announce New Record “Unison Life” + Share Single “Liar”

Belgian trio Brutus have today announced their upcoming record, Unison Life, set for release this October. The record will follow up their 2019 release, Nest, which included standout tracks such as “War” and “Sugar Dragon“. With the announcement comes single “Liar“, which will feature on the record alongside previous single “Dust“. The video for this new track can be viewed below.

Vocalist / drummer Stefanie Mannaerts discusses the latest single, “Liar“, “When things get a bit more difficult or when relationships demand too much energy, I choose to avoid confronting things, or just lie about it for the sake of keeping the peace. At that point it just seems like the easy thing to do so that nobody gets hurt. But in the long run, those well-intentioned lies will catch up with you, and the peace you thought you’d found turns out to be an illusion.”

Later adding in regards to the upcoming record, “I wanted every song to feel like the last song we’ll ever write. It killed me inside because it’s almost an impossibly high standard, but that was my personal goal for this album. It was a two-year quest of trying to do better.”

Brutus will be performing in the UK on their upcoming headliner, which will see them perform in locations such as The Fleece in Bristol, Rebellion in Manchester and Patterns in Brighton. This will be their first shows in the UK in over three years and will begin on November 16th and finish at The Garage in London on the 22nd.

Unison Life will release October 21st via Sargent House. You can pre-order the record here, and view the records tracklist and artwork below. For a full review of Unison Life and further coverage of Brutus, stick with with Boolin Tunes.
