New Orleans unit BRAT have today unveiled the details of their highly anticipated debut album, Social Grace, set to drop this coming March on Prosthetic Records. Alongside this announcement, the death grind/hardcore outfit has presented the third single from the album titled “Hesitation Wounds“, which follows on from previously released “Social Grace” and “Human Offense“.
Social Grace delves into the familiar themes of futility and rage prevalent in extreme music, showcased across its 10 tracks. Drawing inspiration from psychological horror fiction and paying homage to genre classics by Stephen King, tracks like “Hesitation Wound” and “Truncheon“, along with the titular song, deliver scathing critiques of aristocracy.
BRAT embarked on the ambitious task of recording Social Grace, a process that spanned a year and a half at HighTower Recording studio, known for its work with bands like Thou, A Wilhelm Scream, and Eyehatego. By recording songs in batches, BRAT honed and concentrated their songwriting process, resulting in a fusion of death metal, thrash, and powerviolence elements.
Social Grace is set to release March 15th via Prosthetic Records, and can be pre-ordered here. The artwork for Social Grace and full tracklist can be viewed below, for a full review of the record, keep an eye on BoolinTunes.
