UK downtempo deathcore outfit Bound In Fear have shared a brutal second taste of their upcoming sophomore full length, Penance. The official lyric video “Scar of Man“, featuring Alluvial’s Kevin Muller, can be viewed below.
“Scar of Man” showcases a more technical side to Bound In Fear than is typically seen. While the group’s sludgy downtempo roots are as present and brutal as ever in parts, frantic guitar sweeps and a more technical drum passages help set “Scar of Man” apart from Bound In Fear’s typical sound.
Guitarists Steve Hunt and Ben Sutherland comment: “”Scar of Man” is an experimental track for Bound In Fear, but highlights a new side to the band’s music that will be demonstrated on Penance – technical guitar parts fit comfortably with the downtempo and beatdown patterns that our fans will recognise.
“We look forward to hearing and seeing people’s reactions to the new aspects of our sound – not only on the record, but when we bring the new songs to stages across Europe and the UK in 2021 and 2022”.
