“There’s shit you can mosh to, dance to, sing along to, and cry to.”
A band which requires no introduction for any self-respecting cybergrind fan, Blind Equation, have been a force to be reckoned with in the scene for quite some time now. Having released a handful of what are heralded to be the best releases within the genre, then now set their sights on pushing the boundaries even further, and taking their sound to a whole new level. New single, “Nothing“, is a testament to this, incorporating the band’s signature sound, whilst also blending in plenty of new and exciting ideas.
And as if a new single wasn’t enough, they accompany it with the announcement of a new album, A Funeral In Purgatory, which looks to push the boundaries even further.
Promising to be the band’s “heaviest & most brutal album to date, while simultaneously being the most soft and heartfelt“, fans will have an emotional rollercoaster to look forward to in the coming months. Until then, “Nothing” acts as a small taster of what’s in store. Having written the majority of the album whilst touring fan-favourite album, Death Awaits, James tells us that he feels that he has a much stronger understanding of what Blind Equation is now, and how it works. It’s with this revelation that he tells us that A Funeral In Purgatory has been written with live performances in mind, with the intention of them translating to juggernauts to elevate their live experience to the next level.
Available from July 18th via Prosthetic Records, A Funeral In Purgatory is available for pre-order here.
You can expect to see a review from us closer to the release date, and, until then, you can check out the album’s artwork and tracklist, along with some upcoming shows for the band below.
