UK-based progressive metalcore outfit Assurance have shared details of their upcoming debut EP, The Beginning Of The End, and shared their debut single “Sanctum“. You can view the single’s official music video below.
Discussing the EP’s concept, guitarist Joe Hammond says: “The Beginning Of The End is the tale of a man who learns of his imminent passing, and how he navigates what remains of his finite existence. Each track provides a unique narrative on life’s evershortening nature, from life beginning outside of one’s comfort zone in “Sanctum“, to the value of interpersonal relationships in “Burdens“.”
“Writing this record wasn’t always plain sailing”, Hammond continues. “A lot of the thematic choices were shaped by the passing of my late grandfather earlier this year… Loss of loved ones is an unimaginably painful inevitability, an eventuality that once petrified me to my very core.
“Now, though, I am filled with such urgency to craft a fulfilling life, and I knew in my heart that tributing this EP to my grandfather and giving these songs my all was the right thing to do. I hope our supporters can find solace, connection and purpose in our musical offerings too.”
The Beginning Of The End was written by vocalist Cain Anthony & guitarist Joe Hammond, and produced by Our Hollow, Our Home drummer Nicholas Taliadoros. Further, Taliadoros helped create the official music video for “Sanctum” alongside Konnor Bracher-Walsh.
The Beginning Of The End will be available on November 26th via self-release, and you can pre-order the EP here.
