On a sweltering June evening, the seismic drone of Sunn O))) consumed Bristol’s Prospect Building. They were anchored by their monolithic henge, completely enrobed in a layered, impenetrable wall of smoke. Accompanied by a light show that was as inventive as you might expect, the legends of avant-garde amp worship played a set that traversed their massive discography, with a special live focus on the tectonic waves of their latest full-length album. True to their reputation for curating brilliantly left-field support, the night opened with a dose of seasoned psychedelic charm from Black Mountain, whose hazy riffs provided a contrast to the sonic oblivion that followed.
