“Your fraying majesty’s skytorn embrace.“
Once again, the air grew heavy upstairs at The Dome as Stygian Bough brought their second album to London. The project is the monumental collaboration between the funeral doom band Bell Witch (Dylan Desmond and Jesse Shreibman) and dark folk artist Aerial Ruin (Erik Moggridge). This performance showcased their unique ability to weave ghostly acoustic melodies into tectonic, slow-burning doom, further expanding on the foundations of their collaborative discography. Tonight’s support came from a breathtaking acoustic solo set by 40 Watt Sun (Patrick Walker), who channelled the same emotional weight found in his past work with Warning into an incredible stripped-back performance. Bell Witch have also played the Dome with a fully ‘heavy’ line up, featuring Knoll and Esoteric back in 2024.
