Cambridge’s local scene turned out in force for a heavy-hitting weekender, headlined by friends and tour-mates Ómoia and Monochrome. Our HQ was delighted to see this tour put together, representing some of the best of the UK’s alt underground, as declared through our end of year lists last year. Ómoia delivered a complex, high-energy set of post-hardcore infused with intricate swancore flourishes. They were perfectly balanced by Monochrome, who brought a massive wall of sound featuring ethereal shoegaze textures that shifted seamlessly into crushing, hard-hitting breakdowns. Local support came from Insidious, who kicked things off with their gritty nu-metal fusions.
Eternal respect to Darren Douglas who booked this show and for all he did for the Cambridge scene, rest in power.
