Split Chain – Chalk (Independent)

Shoegaze grooves blended with alt-rock stylings make for an immersive and energetic listen that continues to establish Split Chain as an exciting prospect. Thick and groove-laden guitars take the ear through a journey of Split Chain‘s soundscape, moving from strength to strength with each release.

Harpy – Inside Out (Independent)

Harpy returned in October with their brand new single, “Inside Out“. Paying homage to ’00s gothic nu-metal, the solo artist added another excellent addition to their discography. The forceful and pounding instrumentals alongside Harpy‘s haunting vocals make for an experience that won’t soon be forgotten.

Nave – Never Stops Ringing (Blind Rage Records)

Ahead of the release of their upcoming EP Are You Home?, Nave drop their second single, “Never Stops Ringing“, and continue their enrapturing foray in 2023. Delving into emo and alt-rock sensibilities, lead vocalist Maddi delivers grand vocal hooks that embed themselves in the mind.

hxly xo – As Above 444 (Dreamstation)

Liquid State – Blossom (Independent)

After a busy summer playing along the likes of In Fear and Eat Your Heart Out, as well as appearing at Burn It Down, Liquid State drop another another top single, “Blossom“, which will only add to their momentum. Vocalist Keren takes a command role with an impressive performance, and the alt-rock instrumentals tease proggy moments.

hxvvxn – Это не любовь (feat. билборды) (Independent)

A string of superb collaborations from hxvvxn continues with the latest track, “Это не любовь“, featuring билборды, continuing on from the stirring tracks “что скрываю внутри” and “пепел” which released earlier this year. Blending the emotive vocal style with the hardstyle and techno beats of hxvvxn makes for a throwback that also fits in succinctly in the modern techno age.

FFO: CYPARISS, plenka & southstar

Darkroom – Violent Initiative (E. Henderson Heston Records)

Rough and anguished comes Dakroom‘s latest single, “Violent Initiative“. Their first single since 2022 offers a brooding and menacing listening that is hopefully the first of more to come from the Ohio unit.

FFO: S.M.I.L.E., Kublai Khan & SLEDGE

E-Town Concrete – Level Up (Independent)

Blending hip-hop and east coast-style hardcore makes for a unique experience when it comes to E-Town Concrete. After making their return on collaboration with Bayway NJ on “Stretchin Tha Truth“, E-Town Concrete dropped their first solo material in nearly two decades with “Level Up“. Impactful as ever, after all this time they’ve still got the ability to pull off something special.

FFO: Irate, Madball & Terror

Devon Thompson – So Close (Independent)

Alt-pop artist Devon Thompson delivers post-punk musings on latest track “So Close“, placing itself in the minor-chords in a subtle manner and setting itself up as an ideal Halloween track. The country and singer-songwriter elements chime through, making for a charming listen.
