UNFD has become perhaps the most prodigious record label for heavy music, and their roster has now gotten even more impressive with the signing of Michigan natives Sleep Waker. Along with the signing came a whole slew of announcements and releases. Their newly released single ‘Distance’ is an emotional track that consists of the band’s signature nu-metalcore instrumental sound, while vocalist Hunter Courtright belts moving lyrics about loss in one’s life.
The track serves as the album’s closer. It is titled ‘Alias’ and releases on July 23, 2021 via UNFD. The band strives to remain one that asks existential questions, but this time, with a personal twist. Courtright shares, “on this record, my lyrics are quite literal and personal. Everything I wrote was either situational to my life, or about how a person can be changed by a life event or circumstance, thus creating an alias.”
