Reading based quintet Schemata Theory have announced their second full-length album titled Unity in Time, with this they have released the first single from the upcoming album titled “Voices”. The video for which can be viewed below.
Commenting on the single, vocalist Myles Dyer had this to say: “‘Voices’ provides the perfect introduction to our upcoming album ‘Unity in Time’, which explores the nature of connection and our abilities to reach out. The video strips back the idea of what it is to have a voice; How it can be a means to unify, but also a tool for sowing seeds of division.”
Made up of dual vocalists Myles Dyer and Luke Wright, the outfit released their debut album Dry Lung Rheotoric in 2012. The remaining line-up includes guitarists Huw Roch and Mario Scinto, and drummer Joshua Barretto. This will be their first release since the EP Words Not Heard, Read Or Seen, which released in 2014.
Speaking about their upcoming album, the band comments: “We wanted to explore the concept of connection in this new album and its importance in every aspect of life. Technological advancements in the 21st century have drowned us in the mass-exposure of information, revealing uncomfortable truths – and untruths – about the world and its inhabitants. As a result, it has exposed the disconnects that permeate through modern life.”
“It is an immense privilege to write music that resonates with its listeners whether online or at live shows – it’s the ultimate buzz! And so with ‘Unity in Time’ being our most passionate creation to date, we can’t wait for you all to hear it, and then for us to see your reactions.”
Unity in Time will release on February 25th and you can find pre-orders here, and the album’s official artwork can be viewed below. For further news on Scemata Theory and a review of Unity In Time, keep it locked on Boolin Tunes.
