The Armed Unveil First Performance From “ULTRAPOP: LIVE AT THE MASONIC TEMPLE”

The Detroit collective, The Armed, have released an excerpt from the upcoming featuring film ULTRAPOP: LIVE AT THE MASONIC TEMPLE. “Where Man Knows Want” is the first track to be released from the nine track set to be performed on the film set to be released this October. The video for it can be viewed below.

Directed by Tony Wolski and presented by Sargent House, the feature film was shot in the Tudor Room on the third floor of the Temple. Described as part “Lemonade” and part “Live at Pompeii”, it will see live performance blended with a story-driven narrative that will be familiar to fans of The Armed. Across the duration of the film, viewers will be presented with themes of “identity, information warfare, the commoditisation of artistic product, and commodification of the artist”.

Tracks such as “All Futures” and “An Iteration” from their most recent album Ultrapop will feature on the performance, as well as tracks such as “On Jupiter” from Only Love and “Night City Aliens” which featured on Cyberpunk 2077. Over the course of the runtime, there will be an ever-changing lineup which will showcase The Armed‘s collaborative and mysterious methods that have engrossed fans for years.

Digital screenings will start 15/10, with a special in-person screening event happening the same day at Detroit’s El Club. Check here for the full screening schedule. The tracklist and artwork for ULTRAPOP: LIVE AT THE MASONIC TEMPLE can be viewed below, and pre-ordered here.
