South Carolina rockers Empty have unveiled their latest offering in “Temporary High”, the first single from newly announced album Made of Fire releasing October 22 through Solid State Records.
This is a follow-up to their 2019 releases – their debut full length Hope and the Loss of It, and From a Chemist’s Point of View EP. The new track is more pop-punk than metalcore, which deviates from those releases, but it certainly sounds like Empty still.
The band discussed the track, saying: “’Temporary High’ is about a toxic, on-again, off-again relationship where you both know you bring out the worst in each other, but you keep coming back trying to make it work. It’s always good in the beginning and feels so right, but inevitably, you both know in the back of your minds the relationship is destined for failure.” If that speaks to you, check the song out, and pre-order the album here.
