From its “blegh” breakdown that re-invents itself with every bar, to the hip hop flow on the second verse, right out to the epic outro, it’s simply awesome and needs to land in some ears in the west.

Dobbin recommends: From the old British woods emerge Æl-Fierlen with an epic single worthy of immediate attention. Steph Moffatt’s layered vocals wreathe a mournful tapestry over atmospheric black metal that is both ethereal and grounded. Fans of Alcest, Myrkur and Sylvaine should take note.

Dobbin recommends: Coilguns offer a unique blend of noise and punk rock, “We Missed The Parade” being an excellent example. Riding a beat that keeps pumping, Louis Jucker’s vocals are unhinged, nailing ‘angry and sad’ despite the jubilance of the track’s riffs.
